- For the design of this façade we wanted to encase the existing building in a thick protective armored like shell. Porosity in the skin is achieved through a playful movement of openings across the building allowing for selective views towards the near by Volcan de Colima and Nevado de Colima.
The thickened faceted shell is made up of over 800 aluminum perforated triangular panels. Through the implementation of an in house optimization tool, the façade was put though a rigorous process to reduce the number of different panels. The façade was constructed with only 25 unique panels saving a considerable amount of money and allowing the building to be dressed with its low budget.
The landscape is pending approval of funds by the government of Jalisco.
